The Navi Mumbai International Airport site at Ulwe, Navi Mumbai , along with the Trans-Harbour Link will make transportation a major component of the development of the area. While the airport links the region with the world, the Trans-Harbour Link connects the region with the island city or Mumbai. According to the CIDCO website, the Airport site is also accessible from the existing Mankhurd-Belapur-Panvel & Thane-Panvel commuter rail corridors from Khandeshwar Railway Station. The human flow to and from the region is expected to rise substantially in the coming years. While the Airport and the Trans Harbour Link take care of air and road travel, rail travel needs augmentation.
